By accessing or using ProofTrade (“the Service”), operated by ProofTrade (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
ProofTrade is a trading performance verification and display platform. The Service allows users to:
ProofTrade is an informational and verification tool only. We do not execute trades, manage funds, provide custody of assets, or offer any form of financial, investment, or trading advice.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using ProofTrade, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that your use of the Service does not violate any applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of ProofTrade, including linking exchange accounts and publishing trading data, complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of service of your connected exchange(s).
The Service is not available to residents of jurisdictions subject to comprehensive sanctions (including but not limited to OFAC, EU, and UN sanctions lists). By using the Service, you represent that you are not located in, or a national or resident of, any such jurisdiction.
Account creation and authentication is managed through our third-party authentication provider, Clerk. By registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must not create accounts for the purpose of impersonating another person, misrepresenting your identity, or publishing trading data that is not your own.
Read-Only Access. ProofTrade exclusively uses read-only API credentials to connect to your exchange account(s). We do not request, accept, or store API keys with trading, withdrawal, or fund transfer permissions.
Your Responsibility. You are solely responsible for creating and managing your API keys on your exchange. You must ensure that keys provided to ProofTrade have read-only permissions only. We strongly recommend verifying API key permissions on your exchange before connecting.
Encryption. API credentials are encrypted at rest using 256-bit encryption (libsodium). While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is completely secure. You acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.
Revocation. You may disconnect your exchange account and revoke API access at any time, both within ProofTrade and on your exchange platform directly.
Public Data. When you choose to publish your trading performance, your selected metrics, trade history, live positions, and profile information become publicly accessible. You control the level of visibility through your account settings.
Accuracy. ProofTrade displays trading data as received from your connected exchange(s). While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that displayed metrics are free from errors, delays, or discrepancies caused by exchange API limitations.
License. By publishing content on ProofTrade (including profile information, annotations, and commentary), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content in connection with the Service.
Prohibited Content. You must not publish content that is misleading, defamatory, harassing, or that constitutes financial advice, investment recommendations, or solicitations to trade. You must not use ProofTrade to promote illegal activities.
ProofTrade does not provide financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other form of professional financial guidance.
All trading data, metrics, performance statistics, leaderboard rankings, and other information displayed on the Service are for informational and verification purposes only. Nothing on ProofTrade constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any cryptocurrency, derivative, or financial instrument.
Past performance displayed on ProofTrade is not indicative of future results. Trading cryptocurrencies and derivatives involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all individuals. You should consult with a qualified financial advisor before making any investment decisions.
ProofTrade is not a broker, dealer, financial advisor, or fiduciary. We do not manage any user's funds or make any trading decisions on behalf of users.
Leaderboard rankings are calculated from verified exchange data using our proprietary algorithms. Rankings are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or certification of any trader's skill or future performance.
We reserve the right to exclude, remove, or adjust rankings for any user who we reasonably believe is manipulating metrics, engaging in wash trading, or otherwise abusing the platform.
You agree not to:
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by ProofTrade and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of your trading data. ProofTrade claims no ownership over your exchange data or trading history.
ProofTrade integrates with third-party services including but not limited to cryptocurrency exchanges (e.g., Bybit), authentication providers (Clerk), and hosting services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.
Your use of connected exchanges is governed by their respective terms of service. ProofTrade is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any exchange.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROOFTRADE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to ProofTrade in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that trading data will be accurate, complete, or timely. Exchange APIs may experience delays, outages, or data discrepancies that are beyond our control.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ProofTrade and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your public profile, disconnect exchange API keys, and delete your encrypted credentials.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
We may introduce new features, change existing functionality, or adjust usage limits. Where material changes affect your use of the Service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice.
ProofTrade shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of government, exchange outages or API changes, internet infrastructure failures, cyberattacks, pandemics, or regulatory actions affecting cryptocurrency markets.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Sections relating to Limitation of Liability, Disclaimer of Warranties, Indemnification, Intellectual Property, No Financial Advice, and Governing Law shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms.
